During the war, the neat appearance, uniformity and cleanliness of the German soldier were considered so important that personal hygiene products were dispensed or made available at reduced cost in military canteens. Although military types of items were readily available, most soldiers seemed to prefer their personal purchase of hygiene items for the general population.
Use/purpose
Modern blades can be inserted into individual envelopes. It is also possible to insert razor blades in a modern packaging. The razor blades were most often in a box with a razor blade but can also be worn in a toilet bag.

Got both the envelope, and an envelope with blade to add to my hygiene display - and this is perfection. The empty envelope fits blades I have (generic no name) quite well, and leaving it unglued means I have access to that blade for living history demos without touching an original. With the sealed blade in the display - makes it look functionally using item rather than a static museum type show. Well printed, sized and just great reproduction that doesn't risk originals in the field.
